The administration of United States President Donald Trump is prepared to give major US airlines another $25 billion in a standalone bill to counter the devastation the industry has been facing since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said on Thursday.

Speaking after a meeting with airline executives, Meadows stressed additional relief would have the goal of saving between 30,000 and 50,000 people from losing their jobs in the next six months.

Earlier, National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow commented that airlines have received "quite a bit" of government aid so far as they got around $50 billion in the CARES Act alone.
