Rivian, an electric truck startup backed by Amazon.com, Inc. and the Ford Motor Company, is in talks with the United Kingdom's government about opening a factory in the country, Sky News reported on Saturday.

The plant, which is likely to be located near Bristol, could be backed by "a big state support package," the report explained.

The investment is likely to exceed $1.39 billion, the outlet estimated, adding that the plant would be Rivian's first large-scale facility outside the US.
