Eurozone inflation up to 8.9% in July
The annual inflation rate in the Eurozone (EA19) stood at 8.9% in July, up 0.3 percentage points compared to June, according to Eurostat's preliminary report published on Friday.
Energy is estimated to reach an annual inflation rate of 39.7%. The food, alcohol and tobacco inflation rate will follow at 9.8% and non-energy industrial goods prices are expected to rise 4.5% year on year. The services inflation rate is projected to hit 3.7%.
Among the Eurozone countries, the highest projected annual inflation rate of 22.7% in July is expected in Estonia, and the lowest, 6.5%, in Malta.
