Poll: Haley closing Trump's lead in New Hampshire
Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has come within 7 points of former United States President Donald Trump in the New Hampshire Republican primary race, according to a poll by CNN published on Tuesday. While Trump still leads with 39%, Haley is second at 32%, followed by former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at 12%, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at 8%, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 5%.
Haley has gained 18 points among independent New Hampshire voters since November, CNN said. However, only 54% of voters supporting her said they will definitely vote for her, compared to 80% of Trump's backers. New Hampshire is the second Republican primary, taking place on January 23, after the Iowa caucus on January 15.
